In 2026, the LONG NIGHT OF MUSIC will take place on May 16 in Oldenburg. The open format of the LONG NIGHT OF MUSIC enables dialog with all interested parties. At various venues along Peterstraße in Oldenburg, the partners of klangpol - Netzwerk Neue Musik Nordwest will present their ensembles and the artists active there in numerous short concerts, installations and performances both indoors and outdoors. The current art music scene in the northwest can be experienced in a concentrated form, in all its richness and enormous diversity.

The program is aimed at young and old and presents a musical spectrum that is rarely found in conventional concerts. Composed music stands alongside improvised music, installation alongside performance and music theater. The program features professional instrumentalists and vocalists, semi-professionals and amateurs.

Since 2013, the LONG NIGHT OF MUSIC has taken place every summer as a joint major event of the klangpol network partners and has quickly become a crowd favorite. Launched in Oldenburg, the LONG NIGHT OF MUSIC has already been held there twelve times to great acclaim. Since 2015, it has also been successfully held seven times in Bremen and will be held there as well as in Oldenburg every year from 2021.
