An insider tip in Freiburg yesterday, singer-songwriter Laura Braun has long since made a name for herself beyond the city limits with her melancholy, socially critical and profound songs.

Even before the release of her debut album, she had already brought home numerous prizes. Now the time has come: the musician is presenting her long-awaited debut album Vom Weg ab - right where it all began: in Freiburg.

Vom Weg ab is more than a collection of songs: it is the unsparing, sensitive narrative of a journey that does not shy away from dark moments and openly addresses topics such as poverty and depression - without losing courage and hope. This journey begins in the streets of Freiburg, where Laura Braun once pushed her stage piano by bicycle to small pub gigs, and leads her back to her homeland after extensive solo tours on the grand piano.

In the Badische Zeitung Zelt at the ZMF, she will present her debut album, which will be released in 2026, for the first time with the full band line-up and all the musicians involved. Laura Braun's concerts are always an experience - but the release concert for her debut album at the ZMF will also be a special moment for Freiburg's music culture.
