Wait a minute. Isn't that the last thing we need right now - another one who wants to be in power? Highly unappealing. But it doesn't help: if you despair at the sight of the "top", you just have to do it yourself. Out of the rabbit hole of loneliness, the analog promises to be interesting.

So off she goes, appearing as a stylish angel in schools, pubs, prisons and stadiums. She promises salvation, inspires confidence and extends her reach more reliably than any agency.

Trained as a silversmith and puppeteer, Laura Oppenhäuser has been working as a freelance performer and theater maker since 2013. She is interested in power and powerlessness, in enduring otherness - and in the question of how far artistic freedom can go when it is only partially secured. Her works are direct, physical and often provocative, without ever becoming unambiguous. Autobiographical elements are mixed with the imaginary, naivety with precision, humor with impertinence. Her production is process-oriented, resistant and with a desire for friction: asking questions, testing boundaries, allowing the unknown - even when it becomes uncomfortable.
