With the aim of bringing the names and stories of important Jewish actors from Leipzig back into the public consciousness, the MdbK has been searching for traces since 2024. As part of a curator's tour, Ulrike Saß provides insights into the installation by Shlomit Lehavi and Sharon Adler in the foyer and thus also gives a foretaste of the large exhibition Four Walls Full of Art. Jewish Families and their Collections in Leipzig, which will be on display from October 1, 2026.

Visualizing Voids expands the image of the donors and patrons depicted in the foyer to include the Jewish protagonists and makes it clear that knowledge and history are dependent on the questions that guide them. Shlomit Lehavi works across genres and combines traditional techniques with media art methods. Making Voids Visible - an installation of digital drawings presented on a transparent screen - stands at the interface of video, drawing and interactive art. The work fits spatially into the foyer and creates a place of remembrance in the MdbK.
