In the organizer's words:
Leibniz.fm brings Hanover's music scene to the TAK stage
Leibniz.fm, the community radio station for the city and region of Hanover, sees itself as a platform and amplifier of the local cultural scene. The program focuses in particular on the diverse musical landscape of the state capital. Presenters such as Daniel Zeinoun and Volker Wiedersheim regularly introduce exciting bands and songwriters from a wide range of genres. Clubs such as Café Glocksee and Feinkost Lampe also use the program to draw attention to current concerts. The program is supplemented by open broadcasting slots that specifically cover musical trends, events and subcultural scenes in Hanover.
Leibniz.fm is now going one step further than the radio program: with the new series "Leibniz.fm Living Room Session - Your living room for in-between", the community radio station is bringing local music live to the stage for the first time. To kick things off on May 17, three artists from the region will be performing at the Theater am Küchengarten (TAK).
Esther Odefey will open the evening, combining her soulful indie pop with a subtle country touch. The Hanover-trained singer combines warm timbres with narrative depth - supported by violin, among other things, which lends her songs a special breadth.
This is followed by Finn MacCormac, who writes about "growing up" and heartache. With modern, subtly electrified indie pop songs, he moves between melancholy and lightness - catchy, approachable and with a clear feel for moods.
The final act is Emilie Sandin, a FLINTA pop/rock artist with a strong voice and clear attitude. She produces her own music and combines emotional openness with energy and humor. Between quiet moments and powerful outbursts, a sound unfolds that has an immediate effect and remains in the room.
The acts are accompanied by a house band put together especially for the evening with Nic Knoll (drums, guitar), David Gerlach (piano) and Valentin Kollenda (double bass, electric bass).
In close collaboration with Volker Wiedersheim, who was instrumental in curating the line-up, an evening will be created that uses the special atmosphere of the TAK to give local musicians a stage and open up new musical perspectives for the audience.
