Leipzig Ice Dream 2026 - ice skating on Augustusplatz in Leipzig

The Leipzig Ice Dream 2026 is one of the best-known winter events in Leipzig's city center: from 16 January to 1 March 2026, Augustusplatz will be transformed into a temporary winter wonderland with a large, circular ice rink, food stalls and additional activities such as curling and a Ferris wheel. The event site is centrally located - right in the heart of the city - and therefore ideally accessible for anyone who wants to combine ice skating in Leipzig with a stroll through the city or an evening out in the city.

Winter event in the city center: atmosphere, backdrop, experience

A characteristic feature of the Leipzig Ice Dream is the city center backdrop on Augustusplatz - with the Opera House, Gewandhaus and City Tower in the immediate vicinity. A winter adventure area is created on the site, where you can combine ice skating, meeting friends or family and a break with warm drinks. Admission to the festival grounds is free of charge; services such as the ice rink, rental and other attractions are subject to a charge.

The Leipzig Ice Dream is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

Important for planning: There are fixed running times (time slots) for the ice rink throughout the day (e.g. 10:00-12:00, 12:30-14:00, 14:30-16:00, 16:30-18:00, 18:30-20:00, 20:30-22:00).
