Lennart Meyer presents himself with a new, ambitious program. Jazz for adults. Doping for the ears. If things go well, it will be a very special evening and a great pleasure for the entire audience.

From the heart of South Africa's vibrant landscape emerges a remarkable talent: Thembinkosi Mavimbela, commonly known as Vimbs Mavimbs. He is a critically acclaimed South African bassist and composer known for his profound conceptual approach to jazz and double bass. Mavimbs has created a unique sound that combines contemporary jazz with the spiritual and rhythmic richness of African heritage. He will make his official international debut at the HfMT Hamburg as part of a Dr. Langner Jazz Master Night, where he will present his personal and extensive project "Late Bloomer" on the European stage. This performance shows the results of his postgraduate studies in one of the most exclusive jazz programs in Germany.

Mavimbs sees jazz not just as a performance, but as a "conversation". An intimate, flowing dialog between instruments in which improvisation and structured composition coexist in a beautiful tension. This philosophy is the heartbeat of his work "Late Bloomer". It is a work that consciously transcends the boundaries of traditional jazz, embracing a millennial sound while deeply honoring the diversity of African heritage. From the moving melodies to the powerful rhythmic structures. Mavimbs creates music that is intellectually stimulating, emotionally resonant and deeply accessible.
