In the organizer's words:
International choral music from the Romantic and modern eras: look forward to a special program with choral works from Germany, Europe, the USA and China.
Brahms, Mahler and Reger are among the great names of the Romantic period, as well as the lesser-known Pärt Uusberg and Wilhelm Stenhammar from northern Europe. With works by Fanny Hensel and Lucia Birzer, the program also places a small focus on German female composers.
The concert will be immediately followed by an international exchange of the Landesjugendchor to China. Two Chinese compositions will therefore also be performed, which combine elements of traditional Chinese music with Western influences, giving them their own very special timbre.
The final piece is Shawn Kirchner's Unclouded Day, which longs for a carefree, peaceful life without conflict - a bright summer's day.
