Lernen von den Profis: Julienne De Muirier

There are three major genres in literature: Prose (or epic), poetry and drama. In this session, author and playwright Julienne De Muirier will tell us what authors can learn from visits to the theater and show us writing strategies that profitably combine both genres. We will also look at how theater has changed in the 20th and 21st centuries and how publishing for the stage differs from the prose genre.Julienne De Muirier is a writer of prose and drama. She has written for productions at the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg and the Residenztheater, among others. In her work she deals with alienation, life in the diaspora and the self. Her prose has been published in BELLA triste and defrag Zine, among others. In 2023, she was awarded the Ruhr Literature Prize for her short story "Nachtfahrt". She received scholarships from Künstlerdorf Schöppingen and the 1:1 Mentoring Program NRW, among others, to work on her debut novel.
