In the organizer's words:

"Turin, 1948: The three sisters Teresa, Lidia and Aurora have rebuilt their parents' "Caffè Molinari", which was destroyed in the war, and are bringing it back to its former glory thanks to the secret family recipe for gianduja chocolates. But when journalist Vera travels to Turin almost seventy years later to find out more about the life of her grandmother Teresa, she discovers a terrible secret behind the traditional façade of the coffee house. Piece by piece, she unravels the mystery surrounding the Molinari family until she gets to its bitter core ..."

That's how exciting it will be on February 27 at Hospiz ADVENA Leipzig when author Mascha Vassena reads from her novel "The Midnight Promise".

About the author:

Mascha Vassena, who grew up in Würzburg, has published a collection of stories and eight novels with renowned publishers since 2005. She has been awarded the Hamburg Literature Prize and a scholarship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude. She lived in Switzerland on Lake Lugano for twenty years, where her literary crime series "Moira Rusconi investigates" is set. She has lived and worked in Leipzig since fall 2023.

It is not necessary to register in advance. Admission is free - donations are requested.
