Nela meets him secretly in West Berlin. The closer she gets to her father, the more she learns about him and the family's tragic past. And the more she is forced to question her ideology.

As the situation in the western sectors of Berlin continues to deteriorate, her father confesses to working for the CIA and makes her a courier between East and West. Nela soon finds herself caught between all fronts and has to decide who she wants to support in the future.

Erik, whom she meets in the editorial office of the "Junge Welt", also raises questions. He disappears for weeks and doesn't tell her where he has been. Who can Nela still trust?
