Dirk Bernemann reads from his new novel GROMZELL

"Marie is dead. When the oldest inhabitant of the small village of Gromzell dies at the age of 108, the village community is deeply shocked. Death is back and it has come for Marie, of all people, who had been avoiding it for so long.
The mourners seek solace in God, but as death continues to spread, the urge to take action themselves and restore peace to the village grows. On the one hand, this is disturbed by
Anna, who has returned from Berlin and whose grandparents once ran the controversial DEIBELSTUBE. And then there's the journalist who wants to report on Marie's death. And is it actually true that a touch from the mortician Eric Schade announces your own imminent death?
While the search for the culprit for all the misfortune takes place between faith and superstition, an unusually large black bird with strangely human eyes hovers over the village."
