"Das ist nicht das Rohe vom Ei" tells the exciting story of two 18-year-old friends Rainer and Ludwig. On a cold winter's day in January 1983, they meet art students Nicole and Steffi in the Linientreu discotheque. An invitation to take part in an art project with horror story photos leads them to Neukölln, where they witness a robbery. A chain of events is set in motion that leads the friends into the deepest abysses of Berlin. They try to catch the perpetrator and come across dangerous secrets and a suspected police informer.
The novel sheds light not only on the lives and challenges of the young protagonists, but also on the unique atmosphere and social fabric of West Berlin in the 1980s.
Hesse-based author Armin Achtmann presents his new novel "Das ist nicht das Rohe vom Ei", which was recently self-published. This work is a fascinating mixture of coming-of-age story and crime novel with a strong Berlin flavor.
Armin Achtmann, born in 1964 in southwest Germany, moved to West Berlin with his family in his early childhood. As an adult, he spent over 20 years in Spain, where he studied Spanish philology and English literature and worked as a language teacher, translator and sports columnist for a Spanish weekly newspaper. Today he lives in Hesse and is the father of a daughter.
