Lesung: Martin Peitz „SchattenSommer“ (spielt z.T. in Münster)

Martin Peitz (born 1977) tells stories - in songs and now also in books. Following his album Life Through A Lens (2024), his first novel SchattenSommer was published in September 2025. The debut combines coming-of-age and mystery, picks up on the atmosphere of the late 80s and deals with themes such as friendship, fear, courage and memory.

Autobiographical references add depth to the story. "I grew up with Walkmans, mixtapes, VHS tapes and C64 games - so the 80s were a perfect setting for me," says Peitz.

Less than a week after its release, SchattenSommer had already reached number 51 in the Amazon Top 100 in the "Horror for Young Adults" category - and even climbed to number 26 three weeks later. A remarkable success for a debut without a huge marketing machine. And the story continues: a second novel is already in the works.

In his readings, Martin Peitz combines read passages from SchattenSommer with personal insights into the creation of the novel and conversations about the time in which the story is set. Pop culture references in the form of music, films and computer games bring the 80s to life - and make for an entertaining and atmospheric evening.
