Lesung mit Gilda Sahebi

In her book *Connecting Instead of Dividing*, journalist and author Gilda Sahebi examines the mechanisms of social polarization and shows how divisions arise—and how we can counteract them. In doing so, she combines personal perspectives with political analysis and invites readers to rethink empathy, solidarity, and social cohesion.

During the reading, Gilda Sahebi will engage in conversation with the audience. Together, they will discuss how respectful dialogue can succeed in an increasingly polarized society and what role each individual plays in this process.

The topic is also particularly relevant in the context of women’s shelters and work with women affected by violence: exclusion, societal stereotypes, and a lack of solidarity can reinforce existing inequalities and patterns of violence. Examining division and cohesion opens up important perspectives for a society based on solidarity and support, in which protection, understanding, and participation are made possible for all.
