Reading and discussion with the author Stephan Anpalagan: For peace - revocation of my conscientious objection

The GREND cultural center invites you to a reading and discussion with the author Stephan Anpalagan on June 3 at 7 pm.

Born in Sri Lanka in 1984 and raised in Wuppertal, the graduate theologian, former manager at Bertelsmann, Würth and Porsche and managing director of the non-profit strategy consultancy "Demokratie in Arbeit" (Democracy in Work) will be presenting his new book "Für den Frieden - Widerruf meiner Kriegsdienstverweigerung" (For Peace - Revoking my Conscientious Objection). In it, he talks personally about his former conscientious objection to military service and his change of perspective on the German armed forces, security and social responsibility - topics that he also addresses as a columnist for stern and Die Zeit and as a former presenter of the SWR podcast Gegen jede Überzeugung.

The evening will be moderated by Claudio Gnypek, deacon and coordinator at the United Evangelical Mission - an international organization that campaigns for human rights and peace initiatives worldwide.

The event offers space for open exchange. We look forward to talking to the author and our guests, hearing arguments, asking questions and exchanging perspectives.
