Prague-based author Jakub Stanjura has already made a deep impression on many readers in Germany with his debut novel Da war doch nichts. Using vivid language, he tells the story of Daniela, who is trapped in a toxic relationship - a novel about fear, manipulation and the struggle for self-determination that goes far beyond a private story.

The book, already highly acclaimed in the Czech Republic and successfully adapted for the theater, has also met with a strong response here in Germany: Stanjura succeeds in making the invisible mechanisms of violence visible and unfolding a great emotional impact.

He will now read from his novel in Berlin, talk about the background and enter into a discussion with the audience.
