Let’s talk about art – and anger!

On July 31, 2026, artist Nina Paszkowski invites visitors to a dialogue-based guided tour of her exhibition *Furore* at the Bärenzwinger. The occasion is the expansion of the exhibition to include new works, which further alter the spatial configuration and the relationships between the individual pieces.

The starting point for *Furore* is the history of the Bärenzwinger as a former site for keeping and displaying bears. The site raises questions about the relationship between wildness and order, between control and escape: What is confined, tamed, or excluded when humans distance themselves from what they perceive as unpredictable or foreign?

Nina Paszkowski approaches these questions through the mythological figures of the Furies. In Greek mythology, they embody an unbridled force of retribution and memory. The exhibition understands anger not merely as a destructive emotion, but as an ambivalent energy that points to repressed conflicts and wounds, reveals what is hidden, and can set processes of change in motion.

Using works in ceramics and handmade paper, Paszkowski creates an environment in which the history of the site intertwines with mythological narratives and contemporary questions of responsibility, memory, and transformation. Through the gradual expansion of the exhibition, “Furore” remains an evolving space in which new connections, tensions, and meanings emerge.

As part of the dialogic tour, Nina Paszkowski and the curators Janine Pauleck, Tina Quednau, and Annika Reketat will discuss the background of the exhibition, the creation of her works, and the ongoing transformation of the spatial constellation. Visitors are invited to engage in conversation with the artist and the curators about materiality, processes, and the shifting relationships between the works.
