Liliia Pechenkina received her training as a pianist in Perm, Siberia, also known for the opera conducted by Teodor Currentzis, then studied organ in St. Petersburg, came to Freiburg as an exchange student and is currently a member of Martin Schmeding's master class in Leipzig. In 2020, she was Organist of the Year in Russia, and many other awards adorn her biography. Her program reflects her love of the German and French organ tradition, which she brings to life with masterpieces: Franck focuses on serious pathos in the best sense, while Widor features flying fingers across all four keyboards.
