Public space. But where are the walls?
The Faces of Spaces. And what expression can be seen?

We grow up believing that spaces have lines, walls, and boundaries. In mathematics, a space is defined as a set of objects that follow certain rules and structures.

To what extent is our public space a mathematical space?

What rules and structures exist?
Where are the boundaries? Where can boundaries be overcome?
Where are the connections?

Wide circles are spaces intended for the general public or freely accessible. Narrow circles might be a family.

This exhibition explores various such spaces.
The theme of public space is explored through multimedia.

One thing is certain: We all live in these spaces.
Performances exist in the moment. We can only document and analyze what has happened. We are concerned with this public sphere.

FORK AND KNIFE

The practice of FORK AND KNIFE, an artists’ collective formed by Paula Dischinger and Sophia Sühwold, moves between public space, collective movement, and haptic material research. Central to their work are the questions: How can art open up spaces, expand perception in urban environments, negotiate a sense of belonging, and make collective action visible? In this context, space is not merely a presentation area but an active counterpart that FORK AND KNIFE consciously incorporates into their concepts.
