Listening Session mit Hooverphonic

In the organizer's words:

Between trip-hop and orchestral sound

Hooverphonic are bringing an album back into the limelight that is still considered the highlight of their career: "The Magnificent Tree". Released in 2000, the work marked the Belgian trip-hop band's international breakthrough - characterized by opulent orchestral arrangements, electronic textures and the unmistakable voice of Geike Arnaert.

Developed after a complete creative reboot, "The Magnificent Tree" was rethought and recorded at Midas Studio in Lokeren. With songs like "Mad About You" and "Out of Sight", the band not only shaped their own style, but also the European pop feeling of the early 2000s. Today, the orchestral reinterpretations show how timeless the album sounds - a work that is still moving 25 years later.

Since their trip-hop beginnings in the 1990s, Hooverphonic have constantly evolved and built up a loyal international fan base. Their songs have appeared in films, series and advertising campaigns, and almost all of their albums have reached the top 10 in their native Belgium. At our listening session in cooperation with Better Things, we invite you to celebrate this classic with us - atmospheric, nostalgic and full of musical magic. Founding member Alex Callier will be there in person to talk about the history of the band.

Free admission, just come along!
