Since the expulsion from paradise, mankind has continued to try to hear the flowers and grasses grow, even in places where only chimneys still tower over the landscape or leaf blowers make a racket. The warnings to stop approaching the earth's tipping points are drowned out by the daily noise of thousands of trivialities, while at the same time hundreds of nuances of delightful greenery are still conjured up in countless texts and songs that have one thing in common: They are a swan song to what could have been and to the destruction of which we work indispensably from the remaining birdsong until the last moth evaporates, as if the ultimate goal were to turn the blue planet into mud, ash and silence. What a miracle that the words are still green, that even the small worlds are a miracle and that even language is able to transcend difference.
