Nurse Bernadette Rudolph has been on two missions with MSF so far - in Afghanistan and Tajikistan. "When working in crisis contexts, it is always important to get the best out of the few resources we often have for our patients," she says.

In Afghanistan in 2024, she was working in a large hospital in Herat in the west of the country. "Around 1,500 patients came to our emergency department every day. Many of them were babies and young children who were acutely malnourished. The situation in the country is extremely worrying. After years of war, there are shortages everywhere."

Bernadette Rudolph from Ulm will show photos and explain the processes in a project run by Doctors Without Borders. After the presentation, you will be able to ask her and other members of staff questions about our work in war and crisis zones around the world.
