Claudia Tesorino Quartet

"The sea is like music " - Pacem in Maribus is an interdisciplinary video and live music project by musician Claudia Tesorino. In a combination of film, music and literature, the project is dedicated to the sea as a place of longing, a habitat, an object of research and a political topic. The accompanying film by Stelios Karampasis sheds light on issues relating to marine policy, climate protection, biodiversity and the vision of Elisabeth Mann Borgese's ocean peace initiative Pacem in Maribus. The music played live to the film - composed by Claudia Tesorino and performed by the Tesorino Quartet - is inspired by soundscapes of the sea and leaves room for improvisation. The project invites the audience to rediscover the oceans not only emotionally, but also intellectually and politically - and poses the question: What can we do to live with the oceans - not against them?
