LÓN • Europa Tour 2025

Kulturhaus Schwanen presents the Icelandic band LÓN on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 8 pm as part of their European tour. LÓN, the latest project from Valdimar Guðmundsson, the frontman of the well-known Icelandic rock band Valdimar, combines folk roots with a soulful Americana style.

Together with musicians Ásgeir Aðalsteinsson and Ómar Guðjónsson, LÓN was formed during the lockdown in 2020. The trio found solace in music together in a cabin by Iceland's largest lake, Þingvallavatn, where they recorded their debut album "Thankfully Distracted". The songs reflect themes such as ageing, parenthood and the transience of time.

LÓN creates an atmospheric soundscape with a mixture of jazz riffs, folk charm and Valdimar's poignant vocals. The introspective lyrics tell of the bittersweet process of growing older, of welcoming new stages of life and the simultaneous loss of youth.
