From the remote jungles of Cambodia to the glamorous rooms of Western art institutions, the film follows the traces of the illegal trade in Cambodian antiquities. The focus is on an international network that plundered temples during the civil war and sold the looted works of art to Western collectors and museums. The film combines investigations, eyewitness accounts and personal stories of former looters and at the same time shows today's efforts to return the "blood antiquities" to Cambodia.
