The Lottery Winners is your new favorite band, whether you know it yet or not. Recently, the band from Leigh, Lancashire released their first number one album in the UK, beating out big names like Jessie Ware and The National. In November 2023, The Lottery Winners will come to Germany and play in Hamburg (9.11.), Berlin (10.11.) and Cologne (14.11.). Tickets are on presale now.
'Anxiety Replacement Therapy' is the third studio album from the indie pop band based near Manchester. It is the first Top 10 album for the band and also the first No. 1 album ever to come out of Leigh.
Speaking about the importance of 'Anxiety Replacement Therapy,' vocalist and guitarist Thom said, "Each of the albums in my collection is a self-help tape for me. When I listen to Graceland by Paul Simon, it's because I know it puts me in a good mood. When I listen to The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths, it's because I want to come to terms with my sadness. We wanted to present 'Anxiety Replacement Therapy' as a self-help tape for anyone who plays it."
The social media numbers prove an incomparably loyal fan base, growing to 250,000 monthly listeners on Spotifyand 75,000 followersacross all social media. Some of these numbers can be attributed to the band's hard work during the lockdown, where they used their newfound free time at home to go viral on TikTok not once, but twice, releasing a charity single 'Love Will Keep us Together' for Manchester's mental health charity Beelieve, and creating their own weekly online Facebook livestream TV show, LWTV Live, which featured star guests including Rick Astley, Andy Burnham, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Jamie Cullum. The show's success eventually led to it becoming a full television program broadcast by Sky.

Their efforts did not go unnoticed - soon the band was loved by radio as well. The band received airtime on Radio 1 (Big Weekend), Radio 2, Radio 6, Radio X, Virgin Radio, BBC Manchester and Lancashire, and was regularly featured on XS Manchester's A-list.
Last year the band played 120 live shows including Manchester Arena with Rick Astley and other notable supports including Paul Weller, Richard Ashcroft, Shed Seven, the Reytons and an American tour with KT Tunstall, as well as a European tour with Will and the People.
2023 is set to be a mammoth year for the 4-piece band from Leigh, Lancashire. Their unparalleled and amazingly energetic live shows have already secured the band a plethora of main stage slots at the biggest festivals, two major headline tours, support tours with Frank Turner and Kaiser Chiefs, and taken them even further afield to the US and Europe for various festivals and shows, having made an impressive name for themselves in both territories last year.
Now the focus is on Germany. This band is destined for greatness.
