Amsterdam indie rock quartet Loupe explores themes of young adulthood, life in the big city and human relationships on their debut album, "Do You Ever Wonder What Comes Next?" Loupe explores themes of growing up young, life in the big city and human relationships in a mesh of sweeping harmonies, free-flowing rhythms and expressive vocals. In the process, the band succeeds in developing a sound that is both exciting and mesmerizing.
Loupe are Nina Ouattara (vocals, keyboards - they/them), Abel van der Waals (guitar - they/them), Lana Kooper (bass - they/them) and Annemarie van der Born (drums - they/them).
Everything suddenly falls into place for the band with their well-received first single "Leave Me There". Loupe release two fantastic EPs - "Older" (2021) and "Spring'19" (2022) - and earn a reputation as an impressive live band. Thus, they are invited to the Eurosonic Festival twice in a row and accompany bands like Porridge Radio, Moss or Lovejoy.
Now Loupe release their debut album "Do You Ever Wonder What Comes Next?". The tracks tell of self-empowerment, of the search for one's own way and one's own place. What drives the band is the "What Comes Next?" in the big question posed by the album title; the constant movement to chase that silver lining beyond the horizon: ceaselessly searching for courage, solace and adventure in the restless now.
