Lulo Reinhardt & Yuliya Lonskaya // Gypsy meets Classic „Freedom and peace“ (Konzert)
In the organizer's words:
Live at Neidecks No. 4, is already the third joint CD by Yuliya Lonskaya and Lulo Reinhardt.
Once again the duo surprises with new ideas and new songs. Lulo Reinhardt composed ten new songs especially for this duo, all of which were co-arranged by Yuliya Lonskaya. Such as "Freedom and Peace"...here too Yuliya Lonskaya has once again clearly demonstrated her compositional skills for this CD with her song "Full of Dreams". This is what makes Gypsy meets Classic so special and unique, and this CD also includes pieces by other artist colleagues, such as "El Abrazo" by their mutual friend Quique Sinesi.
Or "The Letter" by Alexander Razmakhnin. The duo has just "conquered" Great Britain with a three-week tour and thrilled the audience, as the Bayrische Rundfunk wrote: "...what happens when two different styles like gypsy and classical music meet?...it's like two planets colliding in space and setting off great fireworks..."
Yuliya Lonskaya is the winner of several European guitar competitions and the first guitarist from Belarus to play in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the prestigious Moscow Philharmonic. Her repertoire includes interpretations of works from the Baroque and Romantic periods to modern music influenced by folk and ethnic music.
Lulo Reinhardt is one of the most important, authentic and unmistakable musical voices in gypsy music today. Critics and fans agree that this is not only because Lulo is the great-nephew of the world-famous Django Reinhardt. His unique musical genius and ability give the impression of complete effortlessness. Together they play a program with styles from flamenco, Latin, Brazilian jazz and gypsy music.
"An almost breathtaking playing technique, paired with virtuosity, finesse and elegance."
Westfälische Nachrichten
"Elegant and effortless, with brilliant playing technique and a refined feel for stylistic nuances, Lulo Reinhardt and Yuliya Lonskaya present a wide repertoire on their classical guitars. An idiosyncratic symbiosis of jazz, swing, funk, Latin and Indian music."
