Shakespeare's royal drama in English

Shakespeare's most famous "Ride from Hell", the so-called "Scottish Play", is packed with action, drama and the desperate search for love, friendship and power.

Macbeth is a loyal Scottish general who throws himself into every battle for his king. He would never think of having to be first himself, were it not for the voices that whisper this very thought to him. Or are these voices - "fair is foul and foul is fair" - his own? Macbeth forgets how to tell the difference: Day and night, dream and reality, good and evil. Encouraged by his wife, he murders his way to absolute power: first the king, then his friends, then their families - all fall victim to his greed for power.

The highly atmospheric production makes skillful use of cinematic devices such as a hypnotic soundtrack, simple, historical-looking costumes and strong lighting effects. The fast-paced narrative style and the echoes of well-known history and fantasy productions also appeal particularly to the viewing habits of young audiences.
