Based on "Macbeth all'improvviso" by Gigio Brunello and Gyula Molnàr

The puppeteer, obsessed with ambition, plans a performance of Shakespeare's "Macbeth". When his old Punch and Judy puppets learn that they are not allowed to take part, a rebellion breaks out: behind the puppeteer's back, the ensemble begins the tragedy at their own risk. But the innocent "beginners" are soon caught up in the disastrous maelstrom of Shakespearean dramaturgy. And the fate of Mabceth is mercilessly fulfilled on them.

The timeless production premiered in 2004 and has been performed on countless stages. Thalia's company have also performed their Macbeth for Beginners several times in the West Wing! They have also made guest appearances here with "Aus dem Lehm gegriffen", "Der standhafte Zinnsoldat" and "Kafkas Schloss".
