For the three 16-year-old friends Frank, Andy and Florian, the end of their school days together is approaching and decisions about their future - work, the army or A-levels - are looming large. In the meantime, however, they hang out together without saying much, on stairs, at gas stations, under a highway bridge. They smoke, watch girls, listen to music, go to a metal band concert, to the disco, the record store and the drive-in movie theater. Not even a revolver causes any excitement. In his feature film debut, shot in his hometown of Essen and featuring a cast of non-professional actors, Thomas Arslan reveals the gestures and gait of young people and precisely portrays their attitude to life in a phase of upheaval.
