This performance uses strobe lights and loud music!
A moment ago she was just a child playing with her friends in the school playground, but then this pulling in her breasts and stomach begins, her insides no longer match her outsides, her body no longer matches how she feels.
And suddenly there are these looks - those of parents and relatives, but above all those of men. Every look is a burden, every sentence a burden, until all lightness is lost.
Mädchenschrift is a description, (self-)exploration and manifesto at the same time, a young woman's rebellion against the attributions and impositions, the judgments and harassment that keep her down and choke her off.
