Mafia, Morse & Martini: For the Long Night of Museums on Saturday, August 29, our museum will become the scene of the crime forgangster (movies), secret codes, and the Roaring Twenties:
Theperformance “Some Like It Hot-Wired”catapults you right into the heart of Prohibition: mix-ups, crime, and live swing music blend into a fast-paced comedy full of energy and twists. If you’d like to try your hand at dancing, theSwing Tasteris the place for you. In casual introductory classes, you’ll learn your first swing and Charleston steps. In theescape mission “The Rathenau Mystery,”you’ll decipher clues, piece together evidence, and get to the bottom of a historical criminal case.
At the“Mafia, Murder, and Microchips” gaming station, classic board games meet retro computer culture. Especially cool: Several times throughout the evening, a round of “Mafia” kicks off on the legendary Commodore 64. The“On the Line” event shows just how important phones are in gangster movies. If you correctly identify iconic movie scenes, you can win free tickets to the museum. Sit back and enjoy the show atthe deck chair cinema, featuringgangster and crime films under the open sky.
Inthe hands-on program “Tatort Museum,”kids and families drawcomposite sketchesof master thieves, decode secret messages, step into the shoes of notorious crooks for a wanted poster photo, or track down a missing phone. TheGlam Barprovides the perfect flapper look: headband, beach waves, and lipstick—and the ’20s vibes are on point. If you know the right code word, you can discover classic 1920s cocktails at thespeakeasy bar. Also on the program:express toursof the permanent exhibition and the“Apropos Sex” exhibition.

Price information:
Tickets are available on the Long Night of Museums website and at the museum on the evening of the event. From August 3 to 16, 2026, tickets cost 15 euros (reduced rate: 12 euros), and starting August 17, they cost 23 euros (reduced rate: 17 euros). Children 12 and under are entitled to free admission.
