Magic Globe – Das Geheimnis der Jahreszeiten

Mia's mother is expecting a baby and has to stay in bed all summer. Mia therefore spends her vacation with her grandfather in the country. Everything is new to her there - the food, Grandpa's strange inventions and especially her Uncle Edmund.

As Mia explores the attic, she comes across a mysterious machine that can influence the seasons and which Edmund has constructed himself. Mia quickly wonders whether it might be possible to fast-forward time and simply skip summer.

Uncle Edmund, however, has much bigger plans: he wants to use the power of the machine to abolish winter on Earth completely. But Mia soon realizes how important the change of seasons is.

Because only the special position of the earth in the solar system and its movement around the sun give rise to spring, summer, fall and winter - a cycle that makes life possible for plants, animals and humans. Why are the days longer in summer? Why does it get dark so early in winter? And what does all this mean for the animals?
