With the piece ROCKOKO, the newly founded MAI:COMPANY by Patricia Carolin Mai takes a stand with more than a hundred dancers without professional dance experience and speaks out against discrimination and for physical resilience. ROCKOKO relies on the moment of departure and focuses on the potential of resistant gestures: many people gather on stage, including their different biographies, interests, convictions, experiences and social contexts. They all reach for their skirts and celebrate the individuality of every single body underneath.
