Maker Faire Ruhr

In the organizer's words:

Imagine this: A 4.5 meter tall robot plays the drums. Next to it, someone is making glasses for people in developing countries. And over there you can develop photos like in the century before last. Welcome to the Maker Faire Ruhr.

What is it anyway? It's a festival for anyone who likes to try things out, be amazed and understand things. This is where people show off their craziest projects - from glowing robot animals and self-built rockets to time machines with a steampunk look.

Why should you go?

• You can take part: Not just look at around 50 projects, but screw, press and test them
• Something for everyone: families with children, those curious about technology, hobbyists, science fiction fans
• Surprises guaranteed: quirky projects with aha effects
• Try it out for free: Many stands offer workshops and hands-on activities
