Malaguita Fundraiser

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

In collaboration with @afrofeminas we’re coming together for an emergency fundraiser in solidarity with the people affected by the earthquake in Colombia.

Our support will focus on the Pacific region, specifically the community of Malaguita, Valle del Cauca, whose community council is made up of 26 families.

Malaguita is home to one of many black communities in the Chocó region that have been historically and systematically abandoned by the Colombian state.
Now left without any institutional support, largely absent from international media coverage, and rendered invisible despite living at the epicenter of the earthquake and facing its consequences directly.

Right now, they urgently need funds for food, construction materials to rebuild homes that were left in ruins, fuel, and other essential resources. Fuel is especially crucial because Malaguita is geographically isolated and can only be reached by boat, making transportation of people, food and rebuilding materials completely dependent on it.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to relief efforts. In collaboration with Afroféminas, who have been the bridge connecting us directly with Malaguita’s Community Council, we are working to make sure the funds reach the community itself and respond to the needs identified by the families of the town.

We’re deeply grateful to the full lineup of artists donating their time to make this possible. And to Orangerie for facilitating the space ❤️‍🩹
