Mother and son - a relationship that has always occupied people in different fields. For many people, their own mother is a place of security, understanding and childhood - as is the case for Joachim Meyerhoff, who is once again faced with the ruins of his life after his stroke and a failed restart in Berlin. When an incident occurs at his son's birthday party, it is clear to him that he has to go and live with his mother in the country.

In order to escape his crisis and devote himself to his artistic work as an author again, Meyerhoff moves in with his 80-year-old mother to write his new novel. The companionship of the vital elderly lady takes the relationship between mother and son to a new level and leads Meyerhoff and the reader out of anger and crises in heart-warming anecdotes.

Joachim Meyerhoff, celebrated actor and author, is known for his autobiographical works. With the sixth volume of the autobiographical novel series, "Man kann auch in die Höhe fallen", he once again shows how close tragedy and comedy can be.
