MandoWar - The Joe must go on!

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

They are back!

They rocked the RheinBühne in 2022 and we are delighted that Mandowar have found their way back to the Kulturwohnzimmer.

We are very happy!

"You only see three people with small instruments on stage, but you hear 'The Lion King'" - this is how singer Nils Hofmann likes to describe Mandowar's recipe for success. With just a mandolin, guitar and ukulele bass, he performs with his two band mates and interprets great rock and metal songs.

Classics such as AC/DC's "Hells Bells", Metallica's "Enter Sandman" or Alice Cooper's "Poison" seem surprisingly fresh in Mandowar's versions. Metal becomes polka, rock becomes country. Mandowar manage an amazing crossover of styles, giving each song its very own note. The mandolin always plays a key role and has shaped the band's name. Manowar - the loudest band in the world - was also the inspiration for the name. Of course, Manowar hits are not missing from the band's two-hour program.

The musicians themselves describe their style as country-folk-metal. The fact is: this band is unique and simply rocks every audience. Since the band was founded in 2010, Mandowar has played over 200 concerts. The three musicians from Wetzlar have played in front of thousands of people, such as at the Wacken Open Air, but also in small pubs in front of 50 people.

Thanks to the internet, Mandowar is finding more and more international fans: the band sells songs all over the world via Itunes. Their version of "Warriors of the World" has been listened to over 1,000,000 times on Spotify. Their video for "Poison" stayed in the international I-Music-One charts for weeks.

In 2016, Mandowar had to cope with a heavy blow of fate. Mandolinist Tom Launhard fell ill with lung cancer and passed away on 10.06.2016. Not least because it was his great will to continue at full strength, a worthy successor was found in Sven Richter. The professional musician had previously worked as a lecturer for jazz guitar and in a hardcore band.
