The original church from 1908 was destroyed in the Second World War. The current building with glass artwork by Johannes Beeck was built in 1970. The hall bears the name of the singer Hatay Engin (1948-2020). It becomes a space for music and dance - for voices, languages and stories that generations of migrant workers brought to the Ruhr region.
