In the organizer's words:
St. Joseph's was built between 1894 and 1896 by Lambert von Fisenne. The church combines neo-Gothic and classicist architecture. As part of Manifesta 16 Ruhr, the church interior will be transformed by creative mediator Josep Bohigas and Penique Productions with a monumental, inflatable membrane. Designer Curro Claret transforms the church pews into communal furniture - an invitation to linger and share the experience.
