Männer, Frauen und andere Katastrophen

Men and women just aren’t meant for each other. The fact that they keep trying anyway is what adds spice to life and gives the KIECK Theater’s program its substance. Drawing on texts by various poets, actressCornelia Thieleembarksonplayful escapades where she eavesdrops on Lottchen and her lovers, draws comparisons between men, kisses frogs, says “hello” to the handsome Mr. Death, and narrowly escapes more than one disaster along the way.

ThomasKieck, like so many men, hardly gets a word in edgewise, but he is indispensable as her accompanist on the guitar. And in their collaboration, it becomes clear once again: how beautifully and harmoniously men and women can complement each other—sometimes even without any disasters. Cornelia Thiele and Thomas Kieck have been presenting literary-musical programs under the name KIECK-Theater since 1991, combining acting, pantomime, and music. They’ve performed over 2,700 shows to date. With their mix of funny, dramatic, and thought-provoking little performances, they make audiences from Basel to Rostock and from Bautzen to Essen laugh, dream, smile, and be moved.
