New year, new happiness? While others are still chasing after their New Year's resolutions, we are simply starting off with a musical exclamation mark: The Marina Schlagintweit Ensemble opens our 2026 Jazzclub Live series the way you should open a year - with vision, daring and a lot of bang!

Anyone who experienced their concert at the 48th Leipzig Jazz Days in 2024 knows that this nine-piece ensemble not only thinks big, it also sounds it. Schlagintweit, a pianist and composer, can hardly be pigeonholed. New music, classical music, jazz - everything flows into each other, blends together, repels each other, finds itself anew. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes acoustic, sometimes electronic. And always with the aim of understanding boundaries as a friendly recommendation rather than a serious obstacle.
