Mate Cocido interprets Latin American music with a repertoire that includes various rhythms and musical genres from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. The ensemble combines styles such as jazz, folklore and classical music, interacting with improvised passages and special arrangements of the repertoire. It is a mixture of popular music with a modern academic perspective, without losing the character and original feeling of Latin American folklore.

The variety of composers in the repertoire - including Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, Astor Piazzolla and Julián Aguirre - as well as the group's own arrangements and original compositions make the music a true journey full of emotion.

The group is led by Juan Pablo Moyano, an Argentinian pianist, composer and music teacher. Mate Cocido performs as a trio.
