Germany's worst advocate wrote the famous sentence in 1928, and we've been chewing on it ever since. Barely a hundred years later, there is a state of emergency on every corner - but who is the sovereign? Some say so, others say: the people. As always, the truth lies elsewhere. Mathias Tretter once again finds it in his friend Ansgar: "Being stoned is a state of emergency, and I've decided in favor of it." Democracy may be gradually losing its grip, but that doesn't mean you have to lose your self-control. Unless you wet yourself laughing - but isn't that the most sovereign thing of all? "They'll neigh," says Tretter, who has finally won every cabaret award since the Salzburger Stier 2023. Nevertheless, his latest piece is perhaps his funniest: "They'll hiss, snort, take a deep breath and go home invulnerable at the end." In other words: sovereign. The name says it all.
