The Chicago-born artist is a true multi-talent. Before he began his career as a comedian, he lived in Italy, where he worked as a classically trained opera singer and oil painter. Today, he plays sold-out shows all over the world - from comedy clubs in New York City to renowned stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Matteo Lane has also long had an enthusiastic audience in Germany: his 2024 tour was completely sold out and drew standing ovations in several cities.

Variety named Matteo Lane one of the "10 Comics to Watch", while Advocate Magazine describes him as "bold and uncompromisingly authentic". With his unmistakable style, he combines sharp observations of everyday life, clever social commentary and charming self-irony - often inspired by his own experiences as a homosexual man in a heteronormative world. His comedy specials "Hair Plugs & Heartache" and "The Advice Special" achieved millions of views online. His next stand-up special will premiere on Hulu in May 2025. Lane's big screen credits include the Amazon Original comedy "Upgraded", the Netflix series "Survival of the Thickest" alongside Michelle Buteau, and the acclaimed indie film "Molli & Max in the Future", which premiered at the SXSW Festival. He is also part of the Netflix stand-up special "Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution", which exclusively presents queer comedians.
