In the organizer's words:

Political scientists have been presenting one book after another for years: Our democracy is not in good shape. It is fading away, showing signs of decay or simply coming to an end. No democracy lasts forever. Is democracy like the cabaret? Is it an obsolete model, or are we already living in a post-democracy? There is plenty of pessimism on offer.

What should we do? Our Bundesuhu at Schloss Bellevue doesn't know either, but is prepared to provide official assistance to clear up gloomy dystopias: "We can only find our way into the future with light." It's getting dark in the audience. The stage lights up. The play can begin.

By the way: pessimism is based on a lack of information. Everything will be fine!
