MATTHIEU CHAZARENC QUARTETT: Canto III

With "Canto III", French jazz drummer and composer Matthieu Chazarenc delves further into the world he already explored with his first two albums Canto (2017) and Canto II (2021): Musical influences from southern Spain, South America and from his south-western French originsblend to create a variety of melodies, sometimes nostalgic and melancholic, sometimes lively and swirling, but always wonderfully intoxicating.
On his journey to the south, Matthieu can count on his reliable accompanists Christophe Wallemme on double bass, Sylvain Gontard on flugelhorn and Laurent Derache on accordion. Through numerous concerts and tours together since 2017, they have developed a musical intensity that touched us deeply at the season-opening concert in the Sendesaal in September 2023.
