Mauro Samaniego is one of the most influential artists on the Ecuadorian scene of the last decade. He is best known as the frontman of Da Pawn and Tripulación de Osos, two pioneering indie rock bands in Ecuador.
His solo career officially begins with his first album "2020", a work that was created during the pandemic and brings the lockdown to life with acoustic instruments, tables, cutlery and various household items. In March 2022, "Simona" will be released, a second album that combines both soft and hard sounds and tells of the conflicts of early adulthood.
Samaniego is a singer-songwriter who is difficult to pigeonhole into one style or genre. Open to change and always eclectic, he succeeds in offering an alternative to the classic cliché of the "Latin American singer-songwriter".
